A romanian river

The Weekly Picture : 5

The picture was taken on 5th of june 2011 on a remote river in the Carpathians Mountains in Romania called “Valea Draganului” (Valley of the Dragon).

It’s quite far from the nearest village and the area is home of a lot of brown bears.

In the picture is a friend of mine (Bogdan Hiriscau) who I was fishing with. He hooked a large grayling a couple of seconds after I took the picture.

We were czech-nymphing for grayling and brown trout after a few hours of heavy summer rain.

  • We had and still have the same problem here in belgium with the cormorans… I fish a river where there are only few graylings now because of them…

  • Success! 🙂
