Lough Sheelin

The Weekly Picture : 14

The photo is Lough Sheelin, Loch Síodh Linn meaning “lake of the fairy pool”, its a limestone freshwater lough in Ireland located in County Meath and County Cavan near the villages of Finnea and Mountnugent and the town of Granard.

I travelled down to fish the Ulsters Trout Competition in 2008 for my 18th birthday, we travelled down the small river which opened up into the lough and I was met with this breath taking view.

I have been told from alot of locals that they have never seen such a flat calm before!
